Guide
How Avelune works.
A plain-English tour of every part of the app — read the whole thing, or jump to whatever you're curious about.
Feed
A shared space where people post honestly about what they're going through, tagged by topic (Anxiety, Sleep, Relationships, and more). You can comment, react, and reply — replies can go a few levels deep, and long threads collapse by default so they stay easy to follow.
Any post or reply can be made anonymous — your username never shows, just "Anonymous." Mention someone with @username and they'll get notified and linked straight to their profile.
Commons
An always-on, real-time chat space — closer to a group hangout than the Feed's post-and-reply format. Pick a channel, see who's around, and just talk. Reactions, replies, and @mentions all work here too.
On mobile, press and hold a message to react, reply, report it, or (for channel hosts) pin/hide it. New accounts need to be a little established (by default, 24 hours old) before they can post — existing members will never notice this, it's just a light anti-spam gate for brand-new signups.
Connect
If posting publicly isn't your thing, Connect lets you signal what topic you're going through — anonymously — and get matched one-on-one with someone who offers to talk. No post required. Once someone accepts, it opens a private conversation just between the two of you.
Wellness
A private space that's yours alone — not other members, not the Avelune team. Daily mood check-ins build a streak, a personal journal for anything you want to write down, and a weekly view of your own patterns over time. Missed a day? You can log a past check-in from your history — it won't count toward your streak, but it stays on the record.
Messages
Private, 1-on-1 or small-group (up to 10 people) conversations. Delete a chat and it's gone from your inbox until someone sends a new message; a stronger "end & wipe" option permanently deletes the whole conversation for both sides, once both people agree to it.
Anonymity & privacy
Posting, commenting, or replying "anonymously" means no other member — ever — can trace it back to your account. It's not a display trick; the underlying data itself is masked for everyone but you.
Want to go a step further? Settings → Privacy has a toggle to hide your own anonymous posts and replies from your own account too — so they don't show in your You tab or trigger a notification, even for you. You'd have to remember and search for one to find it again.
Notifications
You'll hear about comments, reactions, mentions, new messages, and replies on your posts — each one can be turned off individually in Settings → Notifications. Anonymous activity never reveals who did it, only that it happened.
Staying safe
Mute someone to quietly stop seeing their posts (they're never told), block them to also cut off messaging, or report a post/comment/message that breaks the rules. See Trust & Safety for the full rundown, and Resources if you or someone you know needs immediate help.
